GB Construction is always seeking to expand our team. We offer steady work year round. Occasionally night work may be required. Employees are expected to be honest, dependable and hard working. Power tools are provided by company and employee provide their own nail bags and hand tools as needed to accomplish tasks assigned.


References will be checked.

You must be able to pass a back ground check and drug test.

We have a Zero tolerance drug policy.

Pay scale dependent upon experience.

Vacation, Sick leave, paid holidays, and insurance officed after the first 90 days of your employment.

WE are currently looking for skilled construction CArpenters

  

Construction Carpenter


We’re looking for a full-time Construction Carpenter  with heavy residential and commercial experience to join our team. The Construction Carpenter will be responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings. Other duties will include designing, cutting, and measuring materials according to blueprints.

It is preferred that the ideal candidate have at least 2 years’ construction experience.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

Carpenter's have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

  • Ability to      read and interpret blueprints.
  • Assisting      supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation.
  • Conduct      repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs,      and other fixtures as required.
  • Ability to      assess the quality of woodwork and materials.
  • Ability to      operate tools, machines, and other equipment. (see required tools to be      supplied by applicant below)
  • Compliance      with local building codes, and health and safety regulations.
  • Provide      excellent customer service.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift at      least fifty pounds at will.

Essential Skills

  • Completion of a recognized      apprenticeship or a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a carpenter.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Physically fit with good hand-eye      coordination.
  • Knowledge of mathematics.
  •  Excellent time management skills
  •  Attention to details
  •  Organization Skills
  •  Knowledge of the tools and materials used in carpentry and the ability to use a   variety of tools
  •  Punctual and reliable
  •  Ability to work independently and with others as a team.
  •  Understanding of building codes and safety guidelines

CArpenter Apprentice

  

Construction Carpenter Apprentice

 The Carpenter Apprentice will be responsible for tasks that fall outside of the typical duties of a carpenter as well as assisting the carpenter with all aspects of their job, cleanup of job site and any other duties assigned to them. 

The ideal candidate will have some construction experience, but it is not necessary. 


Job Duties and Responsibilities

Carpenter Apprentice will have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

  • · Performing other tasks related to carpentry work such as cutting wood to specific measurements and using power tools such as saws and drill presses. (see required tools to be supplied by applicant below)
  • · Installing windows, doors, and other wood products using tools such as hammers, saws, drills, nails, and screws
  • · Scraping, sanding, staining , and finishing wood surfaces to prepare for painting or other finishing treatments
  • · Cleaning work sites, equipment, and materials to ensure safety and efficiency
  • · Measuring and marking materials to indicate where cuts will be made or where other actions will occur
  • · Installing interior or exterior doors, or other components such as cabinets or paneling
  • · Helping contractors with framing of new structures or repairing existing ones
  • · Help install cabinets, countertops, molding, and other wood products in residential and commercial settings

Essential Skills

  • · Must have strong communication skills
  • · Attention to details
  • · Organization skills
  • · Knowledge of the tools and materials used in carpentry and the ability to use a variety of tools
  • · Punctual and reliable
  • · Ability to work independently and with others as a team
  • · Must be able to list fifty pounds at will
